Mashy Pro Shop Guide
The Mashy Pro Shop sells irons, putters and outfits for Pip, all paid for with coins you earn by playing. Irons and putters change how your shots behave; outfits change how Pip looks.
You start with a free set of everything, and every course is playable with it. The shop is there for players who want a little help, or a wizard's hat.
Irons
Your irons are every club except the putter: the 7, 8 and 9 irons and the three wedges. An upgrade applies to the whole set.
| Irons | Coins | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Hickory Mashies | Free | The stock set Pip found in the shed |
| Sweet Spot Irons | 50 | A bigger sweet spot, so timing misses are forgiven more |
| Forged Blades | 70 | More carry, and pure strikes come easier |
| Spin Doctor Wedges | 90 | More backspin, so wedges stop quicker on the green |
| Gold Tour Irons | 110 | More carry, a bigger sweet spot and less curve |
What "sweet spot" means here: the swing meter has a zone where your third tap must land. A bigger sweet spot makes that zone wider, so a tap that's a touch early or late still finds a good strike instead of a hook or a slice. The real-world idea behind it is in sweet spot on a golf club.
What "less curve" means: an off-centre tap still bends the ball, just not as far. That's handy on tight courses like Pinewood.
Putters
| Putter | Coins | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Shed Blade | Free | A 4-yard guide line |
| Red Mallet | 50 | A 10-yard guide, so you can see the break start |
| Gold Putter | 90 | Shows the whole putt and its break |
Putting in Mashy is drag and release, and the guide line shows the path your ball will start on. A longer guide shows more of the slope's effect, which matters on long putts across mounds. The free blade is fine up close, while the Gold Putter takes most of the guesswork out of a long lag. For the skill itself, see the Mashy putting guide.
Outfits
Outfits are 10 coins each and purely for looks. The free default is The Keeper: Pip's orange cap and blue overalls. The others are:
- Lumberjack
- Busy Bee
- Ranch Hand
- Froggy
- Wizard
- Royalty
Your outfit shows next to your rounds when friends look at the Clubhouse, so it's a small way to stand out.
What to buy first
It depends on where you lose shots.
- Missing greens with hooks and slices? Sweet Spot Irons are the cheapest fix for timing.
- Three-putting? The Red Mallet is the best value item in the shop for most players.
- Wedges running past the pin? Spin Doctor Wedges help the ball stop.
- Coming up short into the wind? Forged Blades add carry.
- Just want to look good? An outfit costs 10 coins, half of a full day's coin cap.
Most players will get more from a putter than from irons early on, because putts make up a big share of every score.
Paying for items
Everything in the shop is bought with coins. You earn coins from birdies, eagles and close tee shots, up to 20 a day from play, and new accounts start with 3. The details are in Mashy coins explained.
If you're short, the shop offers optional coin packs: Bucket (30 coins, $2.99), Bag (110 coins, $9.99) and Cart (250 coins, $19.99). The Pro Pass is a one-off $39 purchase that unlocks every item at once. There are no subscriptions.
Try it in Mashy
Open the shop from the menu in Mashy. You'll need to log in to buy, which takes an emailed six-digit code and no password. Items you own stay with your account on any device.
Frequently asked questions
Do the Pro Shop clubs make a difference in Mashy?
Yes, irons and putters change how shots play. Upgraded irons can give a bigger sweet spot, more carry, more backspin or less curve, and better putters show a longer guide line. Outfits are cosmetic only, and every course can be played well with the free stock set.
What is the best iron set in Mashy?
Gold Tour Irons, at 110 coins, combine the most benefits: more carry, a bigger sweet spot and less curve on a mistimed tap. If you only want forgiveness, Sweet Spot Irons do that for 50 coins, which makes them the better first buy for most players.
How much does everything in the Mashy shop cost?
In coins, the six paid outfits are 10 each, the four paid iron sets are 50, 70, 90 and 110, and the two paid putters are 50 and 90. That's 520 coins in total. The Pro Pass unlocks everything for a one-off $39 instead.
Do outfits change how Pip plays?
No. Outfits only change Pip's look, from the Lumberjack's plaid to the Wizard's starry robe. They cost 10 coins each, and the one you wear shows next to your rounds in the Clubhouse, so your friends can see it. The free default is The Keeper.
Can I buy Pro Shop items without paying real money?
Yes. Every item in the shop is priced in coins, and you earn coins from birdies, eagles and close tee shots, plus invite rewards. Coin packs and the Pro Pass are optional cash purchases for anyone who doesn't want to wait.
