Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of Mashy at playmashy.com. By playing or signing up, you agree to them. They're written to be read, so they're short.
Who we are
Mashy is run by Obox ("we", "us"). You can reach us at hi@playmashy.com.
Playing and accounts
You can play as a guest without an account. Signing up takes an email address: we email you a 6-digit code each time you log in, and there's no password.
- One account per email address. Keep access to your inbox safe, because anyone who can read your email can log in as you.
- If you're under 13, or under the age of digital consent where you live, ask a parent or guardian before you sign up.
- Your player name is the part of your email before the @. It shows on boards and to friends; your full email never does.
Emails from us
When you sign up, you agree that we can email you:
- About your account: login codes, the welcome email, receipts and refunds, and friend invites and acceptances.
- With updates about Mashy: occasional news about the game, new courses, modes and features, events and offers.
You can stop update emails at any time with the unsubscribe link in any update email, or by writing to hi@playmashy.com. Account emails (like login codes and receipts) keep coming, because the game needs them to work.
Coins, the Pro Pass and purchases
- You earn coins by playing, and you can buy coin packs and the Pro Pass. Spend coins on outfits, irons and putters in the Pro Shop.
- Coins and items have no cash value. They can't be sold, transferred or swapped for money, and coins don't expire.
- Items you buy are yours to keep for as long as Mashy runs. There are no subscriptions.
- Payments are handled by Polar (polar.sh), our payment provider and merchant of record, under its own terms.
- If something goes wrong with a purchase, email hi@playmashy.com with your order number. If we refund a purchase, the coins or items it bought are removed from your account.
Fair play
Play the game as it's meant to be played. Don't script shots, tamper with scores or coins, abuse invites, or try to break or overload the service. We may remove scores from boards, take back coins earned unfairly, or close accounts that do.
The game
We keep improving Mashy, so courses, modes, prices and items can change. We try hard to keep it running and your progress safe, but the game is provided "as is", without guarantees that it will always be available or free of bugs. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before a claim.
Ending things
You can stop playing at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing hi@playmashy.com. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
Changes and the law
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top, and for big changes we'll tell you in the game or by email. These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, without taking away any rights you have under the consumer laws where you live.
